I regret to inform everyone who knew Laurieo808....(Yahoo) a very dear friend of mine and a regular in yahoo room ten and frequented room 8.....has passed away today.... Her long hard battle with cancer is over.....she is in heaven now, no more pain, no more suffering....Rest in Peace sis!....We shall meet again one day....I love you sis......Amen..............

| Hello to all my wonderful friends! I know I have been slack when it comes to blogging, and I apologize, Summer is just too dang hard to fit everything you need to do and want to do in just one day! However, I do have some news for you all. Wolfie and I are going back to New York in August! I can't wait! I need to see my family and hug them all! That is the tough part, but Wolfie understands and is so kind and giving to me. I love this man dearly! I will keep you updated. On a different note....we went hiking this weekend again and ended up at Laurel Falls in the Smokies, it is a very popular trail, so we go up at the crack of dawn to beat the people and the heat, I have posted a few thumb nails which you can click on to enlarge. I just love the mtns! Okay, back to my title for this blog: Yes!!! I finally created a group, it is not listed because I prefer a low profile and I would rather share with my friends and their friends and their friends! I hope you join! and I hope you pass me on to your friends and so on! I am posting a little "Join" my group button here that you can click on to join. Yup! It's Summer!!! Hugssss to all my friends! I sure do miss everyone, but we all know that summer brings much time spent outside, at the beach, in the mountains camping, BBQing, and me with camera in hand at all times, (tee hee hee). Wolfie is doing remarkable! Just about back to "normal" and I have been for my second visit to the my Doctor, (as a patient) I am doing great! (huge sigh of relief!!!) I have lost all the swelling in my legs and feet (and I found out it was in my abdomen as well) but it is gone and I continue the water pill on an "as needed" basis! Yippieeeeee!!! I also have been breathing much better, with the fluid gone, I have lost 14 pounds as of Friday! omg I am sooooo happy! Wolfie and I have been walking, hiking, using weights and exercise ball, and treadmill along with the usual outdoor chores. I am sorry I haven't been here as often as I would like, but our health is much more important right now, I will try my best to get to everyone's blog as I can. I am here picking up messages every evening and continue to create custom themes, as ordered, but other than that I leave a quick message here and there on friends blogs......if anyone wants a theme, juss hollar! I have so many more new photographs to share along with a few pieces I turned into art, I will upload them as I can. I have a set of thumbnails here that I took of flowers and such...(most are my own). And most are this years. Just click on any thumbnail and it will enlarge the photo for you. I hope you enjoy!  Good Morning to all my wonderful friends! I am posting this blog to let you all know that I am sticking with Yahoo til the very end...if there is one...which I believe is merely a transition and "merge"...with MASH, 360, and the Yahoo profile thingy...I believe it will all be a good thing once it is completed... Many folks are leaving and have created an account in Multiply, which I too have done, BUT>> the only reason I have created an account in Multiply was to "transfer" my data from here to there as a "safety net" in case yahoo inadvertently "loses" blogs, photo's etc. during the transition.. ..I wanted to let you all know that I am still creating backgrounds for MASH and 360.....I am currently trying to read up and create templates in CSS format (which both MASH and Multiply use) You can still use my backgrounds on all three (360, Mash & Multiply) the tiled backgrounds are the easiest to use....I will let you all know once I get a few themes created, I am sure it is very simple, once you get the hang of it. I just simply have not had any time to sit down and read up on it. All this re-arranging, creating new accounts in other blog pages has really been a bit overwhelming on me...Maybe it is because I just do not have the time to sit here and really look things over. I am the type of person who really likes to investigate all area's and avenues on something before I jump into it. ( you know, gain a bit of knowledge on the subject before I proceed) hey! was I just venting?... tee hee hee, I believe I was!...phew!! now I feel better!...LOL! Hey y'all! I hope everyone had a wonderful fourth of July! Ours was quiet, we went hiking. LOL! I just love to go hiking, especially when I can stop and take all kinds of great photo's. I have to make the time to get a few pics uploaded here when I can. I have a few thumbs that I am going to upload, but I haven't really worked on many lately, I have a few of dragonflies I am sharing today and a few of my artistic photo's....Wolfie n I are still working on getting fit, I have lost a few more pounds, but still working on it. I am having trouble breathing today, which is the first time since I was put on Combivent inhaler, which is good because I have not used it, until just now. Hopefully tomorrow's air quality will be better. I pray all is well with everyone! I think we are going to go hiking tomorrow. we will see. I have been busy creating a few "series" of tile backgrounds, which I have uploaded a few to Flickr, the first series I call my "Kaleidoscope Tiles" & the second series I call my " Dragonfly Sinedots Tiles". I will get a few more uploaded as soon as I can. I am still thinking about creating my own group, but Red is right, there is much to consider, however I think i can make the group "private/closed" and I think I can decide who can join and what not...not sure I just havent had any time to investigate, but I sure will let all my friends know if I create a group or not... Hello to y'all! I sure do miss y'all.... I am sure everyone is just as busy as I am with the warmer weather chores and fun! I have been busy busy busy, with work, home, outdoor chores, and we have been hiking a great deal too! It's that time of year! Yippieeeee!!! I have also been battling some health issues (praying here) I have been experiencing S.O.B. and lower extremities Edema, so I went to my Dr. (whom I work for) This makes me a very reluctant "patient" , but I gave in after battling this for a couple of months, remember, I quit smoking in January, I gained some weight, which I definately did NOT NEED!!! but I am getting it back off now, I have already lost 10 pounds in two weeks. And I am going to lose more since I started Triamterene (HCTZ, for fluid retention) Anyway, my Doc takes a chest Xray......I have mild COPD and much scar tissue in BOTH of my lower lobes, which have receded (the scar tissue) I am blessed that there was no mass, nor fluid, I was so scared, Thank You JESUS!!! ....however, I now have to limit my outdoor activity when the air quality and heat index is high....and I am on Combivent inhaler which I only use as needed....I pray I am not too late on the smoking cessation...I have to see him in 2 weeks for a follow up (as a patient). There, enough said.....I'll keep you updated On a brighter note.....my mom sent me these pics, and she has more coming....of my family on their Memorial weekend picnic back home...These are of My youngest son and his twins....Mom says she will send more of everyone else as soon as she can.....I also hope you like my new background....tee hee hee, heck how could you NOT???? those are the most precious set of twins I have ever laid my eyes on!... Speaking of eye's...yes that pic on my profile is my eye, which I took in the mirror, then digitally manipulated...lol! I hope everyone is enjoying the Memorial Day Holiday !  This weekend marks the beginning of summer fun, with BBQ's, camping, and many outdoor activities, and I wish everyone a safe & happy holiday weekend, but please remember what Memorial Day Holiday truly means....  It is a day to mourn, a day to remember our fallen soldiers, our veterans of war, those who fought for our freedom, so that we are able to have that picnic, so we can go camping, so that we may have our freedom to do whatever we want to do! Here is a bit of History on how we come to know and celebrate Memorial Day: Memorial Day was originally known as Decoration Day because it was a time set aside to honor the nation's Civil War dead by decorating their graves. It was first widely observed on May 30, 1868, to commemorate the sacrifices of Civil War soldiers, by proclamation of General John A. Logan of the Grand Army of the Republic, an organization of former sailors and soldiers. On May 5, 1868, Logan declared in General Order No. 11 that: The 30th of May, 1868, is designated for the purpose of strewing with flowers, or otherwise decorating the graves of comrades who died in defense of their country during the late rebellion, and whose bodies now lie in almost every city, village, and hamlet churchyard in the land. In this observance no form of ceremony is prescribed, but posts and comrades will in their own way arrange such fitting services and testimonials of respect as circumstances may permit. During the first celebration of Decoration Day, General James Garfield made a speech at Arlington National Cemetery, after which 5,000 participants helped to decorate the graves of the more than 20,000 Union and Confederate soldiers buried in the cemetery. This 1868 celebration was inspired by local observances of the day in several towns throughout America that had taken place in the three years since the Civil War. In fact, several Northern and Southern cities claim to be the birthplace of Memorial Day, including Columbus, Miss.; Macon, Ga.; Richmond, Va.; Boalsburg, Pa.; and Carbondale, Ill. Happy Fourth of July everyone! Good morning and Happy 4th! Happy 231st Birthday America!! I hope everyone here in the USA is enjoying the Holiday! I am just going to share a bit of history, refresh our memories and remember why we celebrate our independence! Have a safe and happy day!.... The Declaration of Independence of the Thirteen Colonies | In CONGRESS, July 4, 1776 The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.
Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government. The history of the present King of Great Britain [George III] is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.
He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.
He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained, and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.
He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.
He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.
He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.
He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the Legislative powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the meantime exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.
He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.
He has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary powers.
He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.
He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance.
He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies, without the consent of our legislatures.
He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.
He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:
- For protecting them by a mock Trial from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:
- For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world:
- For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:
- For depriving us in many cases of the benefits of Trial by Jury:
- For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences:
- For abolishing the free System of English Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule into these Colonies:
- For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:
- For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.
He has abdicated Government here by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us. He has plundered our seas, ravaged our Coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.
He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to complete the works of death, desolation and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of cruelty and perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation.
He has constrained our fellow Citizens taken Captive on the high Seas to bear Arms against their Country, to become the executioners of their friends and Brethren, or to fall themselves by their Hands.
He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known rule of warfare is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.
In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms. Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.
Nor have We been wanting in attentions to our British brethren.
- We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us.
- We have reminded them of the circumstances of our emigration and settlement here.
- We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence.
They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces our Separation, and hold them, as we hold the rest of mankind, Enemies in War, in Peace Friends.
We, therefore, the Representatives of the United States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by the authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly publish and declare.
That these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States; that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown
and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain is and ought to be totally dissolved;
and that as Free and Independent States, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce,

Good evening folks! I hope this blog finds you all well and happy! My dear friend, Red has posted a blog about us folks taking a pic of ourselves with our camera's, well with photography being my passion, I find this to be a very fun idea!...Let's see how many of you will do this and post it on your profile...please go read Red's blog >>>> Red's Blog and let's see how many folks post a pic...... The pic above is the same one I took with my web cam today....I just applied it to a pic I took at Cumberland Falls in Kentucky in the fall of 2005....neat huh?... tee hee hee! I have been keeping pretty steady these days, with working, canning, making apple butter and apple pies, etc. After all tis' the Harvest season...my favorite time of the season!....I have been playing in MASH a bit, creating more tiled backgrounds that will work in both here in 360 and in MASH. I pray that Yahoo basically adds some of the goodies from Mash to 360.... I love my 360 blog, I love my 360 friends!....I have met so many wonderful people here in the 360 community.....I am not truly fond of MASH, other than we can use animations, and GIFs....no limit to the size of the backgound, all the things we asked for here in 360.... I love the way we can blog over here....I guess we will have to keep our fingers crossed and see what 2008 brings..... Well I have said enough....lol!.... Hey Y'all! It's Almost the 4th of July! Where did the time go? My goodness, I can't believe we are in July already! I have been keeping active with Wolfie, we are doing our exercises and eating healthier (and boy some days it sucks!!!!) LOL! But with so many new items on the market for fat free sugar free, etc. We are doing pretty good, many of them are not that bad. We are going on vacation in August, yup, back to my home town in the Adirondack Mtns. We rented a cabin nestled back in the pines on the lake. I can't wait and neither can my family. I will be taking many photo's as you all know. lol! I have added more thumbs here also, I am posting a bunch at a time, next post I think I will do all rustic cabins and scenery. My new background is a photograph I took at the Apalachian Museum of a cabin door with that rustic wreath, I loved it so I created a background...lol! I have created many new tiled backgrounds too. I havent posted them on flickr yet, but I will try. I was thinking of creating my own group so I can load all my background files on it, thinking of calling it: Wild Mtn Honey Designs....What do you think?....if I create my own group, will you join it? All my backgrounds can be personalized and even change the color theme on some. I can also create them to order. So if you are interested juss gimme a hollar!.. oh yeah.....Ms SP tagged me so I guess I better list my thingies: 1. I love love love to buy shoes!!!! I am addicted to any kind of shoe, sandals, heels, boots, anything I think is cute I HAVE TO BUY!!! Thing is....ummmm I prefer to be barefoot! Wolfie juss rolls his eyes n shakes his head! LOL! 2. I love my photography and digital art, it is my passion, I wish I could make a living doing it... 3. I cherish my family, it's hard to be away from them and it tears me up inside to be so far away, but I am happy and love living here with the love of my life too, I guess that's why we go back twice a year and my family comes here alot too. (they should move here!) 4. I like my soft drinks at room temperature & without ice. in the fridge ONLY on a very HOT day! 5. My favorite colors are Purple & Teal (any shades) 6. I love to help people any way I can! 7. My favorite ice cream is Chocolate!! any kind of chocolate!...Death by Chocolate, Fudge Brownie, French Chocolate.....on & on.... Hey there y'all! I hope this Saturday finds you all safe & happy! Not much going on this weekend besides the usual. I have been creating more backgrounds and put them in my group files, trying to absorb the CSS coding for backgrounds over in Y!Mash....I made a three bean soup today, it was cool enough for it here, thats for sure. Today I would like to share my pets pics with you along with a few others... The first one here is Miss Misty Blue...she is a Ragdoll cat...the 2nd largest domestic feline in the world, (the Maine Coon is the largest) which my next kitty, Miss Isadora, affectionately known as "Dizzy" is a Maine Coon... Dizz' & Misty are sibling rivals for sure! LOL! always jealous of the other....next is my sweet little domestic short hair tabby, Miss Spirit, she is actually the most photogenic of the three and won me 1st prize with the photo below, this photo was also featured in Cat Fancy Magazine a few years back....Next is my Golden Retriever, Miss Bailey...she is 9 years old and a little slower these days...but so obedient and sooooo sweet! I added another of Misty Blue (wolfie calls her "Middy Boo'" lol!...that is his "baby"....although he adores each and everyone of our "kids". LOL! Not sure why, it just seems like by the time I get home from work, get all the chores done that need getting done, I log on here about 7-7:30 pm and poof! it's 8-9 pm! I read my mail, my online newspaper, and then before I know it, it's time for bed! ( I watch a few shows Tuesday through Thursday at 8 and 9 pm) Geesh I just don't know where the time goes...Anyway.....I am adding a group of thumbnails that I took at the Ripley's Aquarium, all you have to do is click on them to enlarge them...one by one.... hugssssss to you all!....I will be back again soon!....Oh yeah..... ( the male seahorse carries the fertilized eggs to maturity and thus the babies are "birthed" by DAD!)....The tatt represents him and his twins....I thought that was a very cool thing to do!...what a great dad he is!...He is both Mother and Father to his girls.....He is a very special guy....I love him with all my heart!  Hugs to all my wonderful friends!!! I know you all have been leaving me messages and comments asking what is going on..... Well I have been on vacation with my son, as most of you know....Yes he went back on Sunday, and I went back to work on Monday, and you all know how limited my time has been since February.....Please give me until the weekend to get my act together...lol!.... I have much to share with you all, but I have not much time right now....love n miss you all! I will be back again by the weekend....  hey all! I hope this post finds everyone well and happy! I have been busy, as usual, but heck....who isn't? lol!....I have had a little bit of time to toy with Y!MASH as some of you know and I have been creating a few animations as well. Not just backgrounds, but glitter globes, water globes, etc. I have not had a chance to post any in my group yet (of the globes) but I will I did post some backgrounds for autumn and halloween over there both animated GIF |
